(1/2) Here’s my staghorn fern, which was mounted 1 year ago. It was fun to watch the shield frond grow over the plastic mesh back in September – October 2015. The fertile fronds have gotten successively larger – yes, I have to duck under them as I walk through the bathroom but I actually enjoy it – feels like a real jungle. For watering, I have to take it down and do it in the bathtub. I see the next set of fronds starting to grow but I might re-mount it as the sphagnum moss has gotten quite hard and may be suffocating the roots.
