  1. thank you, great tips. I wish I had seen this yesterday before I pruned my peach tree, LOL.

  2. Do I need to water during the winter any rosemary and pepper plants that I bring inside?

  3. James I have learned so much from you this year and have started planning my own food Forrest! The amount of food we produced this year in our own backyard was amazing and we are still harvesting winter veggies in November in Maryland if it wasn’t for you and Rick I wouldn’t have thought to keep things going through the winter. I am a first responder and working in my garden has been amazing for the healing process after a tough bout of PTSD and I appreciate your inspiration to get out into the garden every day and do great things! Keep it up and I look forward to next season

  4. James, thanks for the video. I just completed my first hoop house on steel raised beds, and never would have figured it out if it hadn't been for you. I'm having a hard time getting the weather sealing to stick to the linseed oiled wood, but I will rub down, and bought some Gorilla Glue. Hope that works. I have a question for you. You mentioned bringing in a pepper and rosemary and letting them go dormant, so you can put them out in the spring. I have a few things I've started inside–cilantro, celery (from a root off celery I bought at the grocery), spring onions, etc., but how do I make sure a pepper overwinters so that it comes back in the spring? Do I just put it in the basement? In the light? In the dark? Cool spot? water or not? Maybe a winter video idea for you. I hope Tuck is doing okay. I know he's older. My dog is almost 10 and slowing down a little. I think all the carrots have really helped Tuck!

  5. Thank you! You are awesome and inspiring! Very very helpful! Also could possibly help you with your dogs health.

  6. Thanks for another great video! I think I am a bit behind schedule because of our zone differences (I’m in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦, so zone 5B), but I will do what I can on the nice days to make my Spring craziness a little easier!!! thank you for all you do to help us! I love your info, your presentation, your energy, and your buddy Tuck!

  7. Thanks to you, I’m out hunting for land where I can build my dream home and work on the property day and night grow all kinds of fruits and vegetables just like you. Even though you are way younger than I’m but you are motivated me

  8. Hi James , please make a video on how you save pepper plant through out the winter and watering tips for indoor plants that are moved from outside.

  9. Last year about this time you, Tuck and Keith at Canadian Permaculture Legacy inspired me to start my own permaculture journey, so I managed to find enough cardboard and wood chips to sheet mulch about 600 square feet. Planted all the basics this spring and sheet mulched about 200 sq. ft. more, everything is doing great. Now I’m paying my grandson 2 bucks a bag for leaves, hoping to get about 50 bags to run thru the shredder for mulch and making leaf mold. Next year’s plan is to propagate new starts from my plants and keep on growing ! Thanks for all the great information !

  10. T.U.James for information on preparing my soil for winter. I will be mowing my 800millionbilliontrillion leaves 🍂🍂🍂🍁🍁for my mulch tomorrow; weather will be perfect time to do this. Hi Tuck, you blend in so beautifully, my Little Ray of Sunshine! 🌞 ❤❤❤❤❤🥰

  11. Is it wrong to bury some leaves in between the dirt of your raised bed?

  12. Sorry, I’m still avoiding you. I broke two legs consecutively and killed all my seedlings. I like that you’re successful but I’m sad that I don’t have a harvest of any kind. I’m queen of weeds. It might take me next season to get weed roots out of my yard (can’t really walk properly yet) sad for me, happy for you.

  13. Hey guys, thanks for a great summer of growing tips and motivational advice. You rest this winter tuck. Hope your full tilt boogy next spring boss man. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  14. Hope Tuck is OK. I know the feeling with a dog and aging. Our golden is going on 11 months with cancer that should have killed her at 4 months.
Great presentation on your fall prep. I haven't pulled the trigger and started the garden yet. I have to figure how to deal with the deer first. But understanding fall prep for fall is the same with honeybees. Summer and fall prep increases the chances of winter survival.
I do have Fig trees in the yard and they died back this past spring with the weird weather. I'm just over in Pa. and in your zone too. I'll be wrapping them up when the leave drop as you suggest.
I hope to see you again as the fall progresses and watch what you do in the winter months

  15. I mulched my strawberries with leaves last winter and they seemed to get a fungus , any one have any thoughts on it ? I used oak leaves.

  16. Is there any benefit to covering a raised bed with plastic for the winter (after putting down some compost and mulch)? The goal here is to really get rid of any weed growth when spring comes.

  17. I hope Tuck is ok. Such a sweet little guy. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  18. Just wanna say thank you sir for always having an inspirational videos.. I'd say inspirational coz im from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭 and we have diff. climates and planting seasons but you are one of my inspiration in having my own farm to table set-up… Hope i can have some of your seeds someday to plant here in our mini space… Im into container gardening sir since we don't have enough land, living in a city..❤❤ keep us inspire sir & safe winter to you..😊😊

  19. Soo grateful for all of your wisdom on gardening from both you and Tucker! Thank you guys! Sending lot's of love and light! 🙏🏻💞✨

  20. Loving what we do and the health benefits are remarkable. Sorry to hear about Tuck's issues. Too many carrots? We all love your little guy and all of your video/information/education and enthusiasm. We have a bell pepper in a pot. Do you worry about bringing in insect for that sunny window. Can we winter over in the garage? Any suggestions are appreciated or a link.

  21. A light bulb went off when you said that so much of gardening is about setting things up so they can excel in the future. No wonder I typically feel like I am behind the curve. Now I know how to approach building my garden and I am excited to get ready for next spring. Thank you and Tuck!

  22. Jamie, I was just caught between glacial rock dust and basalt rock dust for all my raised beds, landed on basalt. Any constructive input on the topic? Thanks man love the content
