Wow your garden is so harmoniously pretty. It has just the right balance of colour and texture, in my eyes anyway. We don't have armadillo here but we have hedgehogs and others which are searching for food and are sure to find some easily at the base of plants, so I replace everything in the morning and then along come the birds and do the same 🤣, so I replace and then I water so back they come again 😂. I think those creatures could teach us a thing or two. Thanks for a lovely video. Have a great day Rachel 😀
Your garden is looking great! I lean towards blue containers, too. Question…I have 3 swallowtail chrysalis that have not emerged for weeks now, does this mean they are going to emerge next spring? They are in an enclosure on the porch outside. How do I go about keeping them safe for months?
Your garden looks amazing & love those roses. I wouldn’t bother putting those in pots because Mr Armadillo probably can’t hurt the roots too badly & sure won’t be able to completely dig a rose bush up. Just throw some garden soil around it when needed. I caught a 2nd armadillo 2 weeks ago & he went to the pecan orchard about 15 miles from here. The trap is green & has become a permanent fixture in my garden now. Lol I haven’t had anymore so hopefully that’s all for awhile. I walk my gardens every morning with my coffee inspecting. Sheesh. What a great relief when things aren’t dug up. Lol I do love your resin blue pots & will be on the lookout for them. I’ve got 6 of those blue ones you got from Lowes. You are right, the unglazed terracota pots have to be watered constantly & aren’t great for the south in our heat. Take care! From your neighbor in GA
I commend you for allowing your coleus to flower. The flowers are so pretty and dainty. I don't know why people pinch them off. Thank you for bringing us a little bit of nature from your garden. Have a blessed week.
Gardens are magical, and I love how much you enjoy the special little surprises your garden gives you. I cannot imagine having an armadillo in my garden. I’m too far north for them, but I’ve had an occasional bunny in my yard. I figure if I have plenty of plants, there should be enough for them too. So far, so good.
Hi Rachel! A neighbor told me that he just saw a ferret-shaped animal climbing his house’ fence. Approaching to his unripe grapes, it looked back and glared into his eyes, which scared him so much. The grapes may have been asking him for help stifling their voices. It is relieving to know that many of your plants are armed with round shells harder than their enemies! Armament of one's own and proper alliances must be effective to keep someone from attacking weak friends. Le'ts keep deterrence! Yui
Hey there! 👋 As usual, I'm really impressed with your garden!! It's always a nice time visiting you in it too. I've found I look forward to you posting every week!
& I just wanted to let you know I'm still watching every Sunday! So just know if I miss commenting on a video or 2 in the upcoming months, I'm still watching!! It's just lately I haven't had time to comment, my grown up daughter has been dealing with some pretty big problems that have just come up. As a matter of fact, she called me yesterday in the middle of your vid. (She's 6 mo. preggers, and the sweet baby may not be ok…) It's all very sad.
So I never got back to the vid yesterday…
But BEFORE that phone call, what I was thinking was a long pun on all the pot in your garden… I mean – pots! (Nope, that's not true! I meant POT ! That's the root of the pun! And I'm just kidding around with it, so don't take me seriously!) I was thinking things like: "And THIS time in my life shall be known as my POT phase." And- "I only like a certain kind of POT." And- "There's this one kind of POT that makes my life out here SO MUCH better." And- Click Bait Titles for the video: "What kind of POT do YOU like best?" And- "I'm filling my garden with THIS kind of Pot!" And- "Does this kind of POT make y'all thirsty too?" (Ok, that one needs work!)
But anyway… At the time I was thinking it was punny… Maybe it's not… I dunno anymore… It's been a weird few days…
Do the armadillos dig out the roots from the roses as well? The roses that you showed look so beautiful and delicate. I really like your blue pots. I thought they're all out of ceramic. The advantage with pots is that you can arrange your plants the way you want them. I change their position quite often 😉
Your Garden is very beautiful! I've just begun my garden journey and I can only hope that one day it will look half as good as yours. You've done a fabulous job! Well done!
Rachel, your garden is so so beautiful! Getting to walk through it with you makes my week! Today, I sat in the shadow of Canterbury Cathedral in England to watch. (I had to get my fix!) Hoping to visit some gardens while I’m here, so I can channel Monty Don when I get home! 😂😂😂

The ruellias run around your yard from the roots. They can get invasive. I love your garden. Thanks for the wonderful video.
Always enjoy your videos! Like the way you bring God into your garden as it is truly a creation from Him!
Thanks for putting this out there. Your work is very inspiring. I hope in eight years time I can be as half a gardener as you.
