How adorable those r kittens are. So glad you kept them. They adore you!! We have had no measurable rain in 46 days!! Ichad to pull out all my sunflowers Started from 1 Van Gogh a friend gave me. There must have been over 100 that volunteered the next year and took me 2 more years of pulling them out. I still occasionally get a volunteer. Always great videos. Thanks for sharing!! So beautiful – I love cosmos, cone flowers and sunflowers but don't currently have room to grow them so I will enjoy yours. In the fall the gold finches just love the cone flower seeds and will pick them bare. Thanks so much for sharing!

Yes! Save the dead heads in zinnias. I pull the dry petals, and the seeds look like little spear heads 👍

Happy to say that some of my veggie seeds finally have come up – took forever in the heat. We have had a tiny bit of rain here in our desert community and I have been watering daily to help this process. The old grape vine is loaded with bunches of grapes and is a Concord. By the way, Hoover Dam at Lake Mead is fine. One transformer blew up and caught fire but all was put out by staff fire dept. in about 1/2 hr. and officials say no problem with electrical generation as there are several other active generators working on both sides of the dam (NV and AZ sides). I keep up with the lake news as we live in the general region.
My sunflowers are 4 feet tall now. Rabbits and squirrels I’m fighting with I put deterrent out to Cayenne pepper they don’t like the smell of so put that too. I’ve got to put spikes on my but growing good. Yours is beautiful. ❤️

I just got 5 lbs of sunflower seeds from Haas Seeds… Some for my garden and some for favors for our son's wedding that I'll put in little envelopes..
Your flowers are beautiful…plant some cone flowers by your porch, they'll come back in abundance yrs to come…
Sunflowers! …and yours are gorgeous! The Bumble Bees likes them too! …and the Coneflowers! Zinnias and Cosmos – a lovely combination.
Might want to pinch down the cosmos to keep it more bushy, less lanky ☺️

Deer do not like the scent of rosemary so plant them 10' apart to deter the deer invasion

Cone flowers are perennials.
The sunflowers look so nice. I was wondering, where you staked and tied the sunflower plant to be more upright, will the string cut into the stalk of the plant when the wind blows? Maybe cloth would be better ? I'm not a gardener but just wondering. Pretty at any rate.

Didnt get to grow any flowers, worked on 2 gardens, and all my chickens and turkeys! There are flowers that are edible, and medicinal, ive studied herbs 26 yrs 7 yrs school. There are some schools that offer short free courses that might help. Ive taken some of the free courses plus 6 courses at one school 2 were short. Some are 3 yr classes but you can finish at your own pace. Keep up the good work. Please remember herbs are safe but also there are drug and herb interactions so whatever meds you are on please look up your meds and see which you can or cannot take. God Bless yall!
Sometimes I find Bumblebees sleeping on the Echinacea early in the morning. Such a sweet thing to witness. Also, the best Jam I have ever eaten was made from Roselle. Did you start your Roselle indoors?

Had sunflowers growing. Got up about 18 inches tall and something ate the tops out of them. Deer and bear are plentiful here. Ran one out of pear trees this morning. Deer that is. Don’t mess with bears. Lol.

Hey if you can put some plastic on your rolls in your garden that keeps it from growing in between the rolls of it.
So excited about the roselle. I live in SWFL and just planted them for the first time. We call them Florida cranberries. Can't wait to try them!
An update: I picked bunches of good Concord Grapes this morning! Hooray! I have babied the 40 year old vine for 2 years now. Thank goodness I got harvests before the birdies took all.

Sunflower is my daughters favorite flower so I planted one year and now I no longer have to plant cause I let it go seed for the birds so they drop enough seeds all round
