Located adjacent to the Springfield Missouri Botanic Garden this separate garden requiring its own entrance fee was a huge disappointment to me.
The lack of authentic planting material beyond what you might find at your local big box store was really glaring. You would have thought that at least it might contain a nice collection of Japanese Iris (Iris ensata) or other types of plants that would succeed in the local Missouri climate but no such luck. there was some nice statuary and a small but pleasant looking teahouse but nothing worth making a special trip. Have you been here before? if so, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this garden.
