What a Mess: Inside and In the Garden

Oh what a mess my surroundings are right now! Inside…the kitchen, my office, the laundry room. And the hot and tired and thirsty and wind blown outside. Energy level is at low ebb after a two day trip to Dallas and Ft. Worth and working my way back after surgery. But I’m trying to keep things in perspective, and looking for the positives. Definitely, the plants that have held up to this horrific summer are definitely uplifting. Here’s my list of real garden troopers!

  1. Here in Northwest Arkansas we got zapped with 20° two nights in a row. We went from summer to dead of winter

  2. Love your lamp on the counter next to your sink, I’m actually looking for something like this lamp for my kitchen. Do you mind sharing where you purchased?? Take it easy during your healing time!

  3. Last year I decorated my house for Christmas and got a virus that gave me shingles in my mouth, face and inner ear and I was sick the whole holiday season until March! I’m well this year and so relieved but it hurts my heart that you can’t do as much! You are an inspiration and yes to landscape that can get by without so much work! I am adding ornamental grass and loving them! I pray for you to get well and that you’ll be back to doing what you love!🥲🥰🌈🙇‍♀️

  4. Been there too Linda. I had to be patient that order would be restored to my garden and home after a 9 month recovery period from kidney and bladder issues. Just had to roll with it day to day! ❤

  5. Bless your heart Linda for showing us what’s happening with you today. Take it slow and easy it will be ok. Yard looks fine, Az with you. ❤

  6. Maybe it’s time to add some lighting, just to add some sparkle. Then sit back and relax. Take care of yourself! ❤

  7. I know you must be going crazy with those limitations, especially with your energy and drive. We've been a little down lately, so I'm going to bake pumpkin spice muffins tonight. Nothing fancy, but the house will smell amazing! Hoping we all get some rain soon–my trees are not happy. =)

  8. The one thing that can humble us to our knees… is a health issue or surgery. When we cannot be who we believe ourselves to be, its hard to accept. But it comes back with time hopefully. And I believe you are on your way . But I did laugh, when you stood in your front yard and said "chaos on the outside". Your chaos is my goal! haha I wish my garden looked like yours on any given day! WInd, drought ,summer, winter , it always looks beautiful to me

  9. Your yard is lovely as always, so relax! Inside ask Hubs to put stuff away, get a cup of tea, take your mail and go sit by the fire and go thru it. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Heal, it’ll be all be there when you’re mended. Let others pick up the stuff so you can RELAX. 💕

  10. I'm sorry you had to go through all this ill health. I have bursitis in my hip and it is very painful to get around sometimes. I take my walker outside to get any shopping from the car to the kitchen, so I don't have to carry it. I hate that my garden doesn't look like it should but here in central California we are in our fourth year of drought. keep getting better!

  11. As much as I like, appreciate, and look forward to all of your videos, perhaps it is time for you to take a brake and devote time to getting your health & house in order. Pushing yourself so hard at this point might not be the best idea for you – hope that things get better for you sometime soon,

  12. Oh my gosh, we certainly are simpatico today! Hadn't intended on doing the projects that I did, but also ended up with a kitchen in disarray. Cut down the herbs and processed, dried, froze and prepared them. (Last tabouleh of the season, aww.) Potted some to bring in to the kitchen for the winter, also. Took time out to make a quick floral arrangement when a neighbor sent over a small thank-you bouquet of flowers from her garden. And to top it off, your skirt is of the same material and pattern as my recently donated jumpsuit. 😊 Good golly!

  13. Hope you are gaining strength and health, time to tend your inner garden, the creator will care for your outside until you can get back to it.

  14. Linda in answer to the question of today, I love the sights and foods of fall. My husband and best friend just recently went on a weekend trip to Elijay Ga. In apple country and the North Ga. Mountains are beautiful! We stopped and got apples and spiced cider and I love to cook apples. With fall I decorate with pumpkins and mums and I just feel cozy inside. I make mulled cider and coffee. Nothing better than sitting out on porch and enjoying the trees and smells of fall. Praying for you and a complete recovery. Sherry
