Just wanted to do a quick update on my fig trees. They seem to like the new spot and we almost got figs. Maybe last year.

  1. Those figs look healthy and like maybe next year you will be able to get some. The veggie roast looks wonderful. Thank you!

  2. That’s very encouraging. We bought our Chicago figs in June of this year. They’ve gone from 4 inch starts to very healthy looking 1 1/2 feet tall trees in a little over 4 months. I may put them in a bed or earth next spring based on your success. Thanks for the update πŸ‘

  3. In Spring, dress them with some rabbit manure. Here in South Ms.,we raise LSU Gold & Brown Turkey Figs.My Grandfather,Father and I have always used rabbit manure. He will made some figs.

  4. They do look promising and a good progression. Do you think they would do well individually potted? Gosh, your trees are beautiful!!πŸπŸ‚ Have a great week!😊

  5. Will you do anything special to protect the fig for winter? I have mine in a pot and it is languishing but I'm not sure about how to protect it to minimize winter kill or even if it's something to worry about. I'm in a similar zone to you. Mrs. URHC is such a wonderful cook, I'll be making that veg bake soon. Thanks for sharing.

  6. The baked beets, sweet potatoes, and onions look good. I never thought of combining those flavors. Do you use sweet onions?
