  1. Hi Ivan, question for you. Google is no help. Could I plant out carrots now for overwintering (like onions) and harvest them in spring? They would be in a mesh covered raised bed in a south facing garden. What would you do? Cheers

  2. I sowed a couple of 30ltr tubs in my Poly Tunnel, they were coming up fine and it looks like the mice have had them, gutted! I think I will re-start and cover

  3. Yep I've had great carrots in pots. Good sized ones. I'll be doing them that way again next year. I have two more containers with carrots in left to harvest, and the last one might need to be put inside to finish growing as it gets colder.

  4. Yes Ivan, definitely a win win every little helps, they will taste far better than any shop bought carrots. Thanks for the update.

  5. Not bad, not bad at all, Ivan. Nice tip about raising the pots high; you're so observant. I guess from experience, good to know.

  7. Ivan you made me laugh with that little carrot, The only pest i have at mo is my husky eating my veg.

  8. Thanks Ivan, they were lovely looking carrots, I have in the past grown some nice carrots in potato bags as they are tall enough to avoid the carrot root fly and a good depth for growth. I love eating carrots and my grandson Albert loves carrots, at the moment he doesn't like green food and has gone off some brown veg but always wants a stick of carrot in his fist. He's 18months old. Take care and all the best. Stevie
