Gardening Supplies & Hanging in The Garden With my Pets & Plants

Update: Someone who was helping me with yard work apparently got carried away with the hedge trimmers and pruned the hydrangea trees.. mystery solved!
This weeks video was largely improvised due to a corrupted memory card that had all the video of my doing a follow me around at walmart and a local nursery, shopping for plants and doing a small shopping haul. Oh well not the end of the world. I did go to Lowes to find gardening supplies and what I need to make a totem for my pothos vine to climb. I would like to do a totem for some of my other pothos. The options are Marble Queen Pothos, Manjula Pothos, Cebu Blue Pothos and Neon Pothos. Let me know which one I should plant up on a totem in the comments. After gathering gardening supplies I walked around the garden, potted up some annuals around my majesty palms and showed off my very sad looking “pollinator garden” that just transformed into my “dump garden” while my sulcata tortoise roamed around. Later I potted up my cold hardy palms that arrived in the mail. Planting needle palms is fun and will get it’s own video.

  1. Update: someone pruned the hydrangea trees when they thought they were helping me with yard work by tidying some hedges … and this is why I never ask for help in the my garden! 🤣😂

  2. Why dont you just get your own 18hr daily reality tv show that way we can watch what we want you can edit for your vlogs and then it's like we all meet in the middle!!! I have spent the past 3wks watch every video start back in 2016 and having the time of my life!!!

  3. It's so nice of that little Cardinal to allow you to share her yard with her. Hey, you mentioned there are still plants (succulents) in your garage. Did I miss the video where you showed us how the garage looks almost empty and how the fishies are doing? 😉

  4. I love this video I watched every second of it. I love the way you interact with your animals and your wildlife even down to the earth worm. That was precious. I would do the same thing. In fact I have several birdbath that frogs have laid eggs in. Now I’ve got hundreds of little tadpoles and I making sure the water stays in them so that they can turn Into frogs. We live in central Florida. Your patio is so beautiful as well as your pool. I love it all.

  5. Hi Jeff! I loved the length of this video! Longer, much longer, would be good, too! 😏 I'm glad it wasn't deer eating your hydrangea trees. Hopefully your helper knows better now. I hope you show us how you do the poles for your pothos. I want to put some of mine that are inside on poles. Just haven't figured out how I want to do it yet. I now yours would be too big, but ideas are always good. I think the Cebu Blue would be a good one, too. I love seeing what you've done between your videos. It's coming together beautifully. I hope Pumpkin is doing better. You started to talk about her then saw your rescue fern. LOL! Did you ever find out what she cut herself on? Poor baby! It was nice seeing Colby in a video, and, of course, Toby, Tucker and Charlie. Speaking of critters, are your little lizards still hanging around now that you moved their "homes" outside? Can't wait for your next video/vlog. Thank you for sharing!

  6. Welcome home! It was so fun to see all the stuff you posted to Instagram- you have a great eye for slowmo!

What in the world did punkin get into? Also good puppy for not making a baby bird snack!

  7. Lol Jeff. Great video, sorry that it took me a few days to get to it. Rainy days make me tired too. And it makes it cold here as well, when I have to turn the heat on that is crazy, and in July? what's up with that? Your bird is having a total fit, and it's kinda funny, It's raining as I'm writing this, but I'm okay with that. So glad that the baby bird is okay. Okay I'm laughing at you picking up that worm, I think they are yucky and do not touch them, I lived in Washington for a year and when it rained these banana earthworms came out, talk about gross, they were huge and yellow, makes my skin crawl. Crazy, your marble queen, Cebu Blue, and neon pothos, I grow inside, lol! Love love this video, so relaxing and fun to watch, all the beauty that's in your yard, and you have so much going on, and it just looks better and better the more you work on it. I love your turtle, I didn't realize you had a pet turtle, he's a cutie. Your videos inspire me to get busy in my own yard, and it's just so much fun relaxing and watching one of your videos, Take care Jeff, see you in the next video, bye for now.

  8. "It means I have to go put pants on but I don't want to" 😂 that's like me getting out of pjs to leave the house on a Sunday lol

  9. Hi Jeff 👋 I have seen you have some Persian Shields in your videos. I bought a couple online and got them early autumn and kept them inside but once Winter really set in they died down which I'm assuming is just going dormant.. it did get to 9c some nights (my house is freezing❄) I put them in a cool darkish place hoping they will come back in Spring, do you have any experience with these going dormant? Also the place I ordered from has them in a mostly peat moss soil which I'm not a huge fan of. If you think they are just dormant would you recommend repotting after they come back Or before? Thanks for your input 😊 (sorry for the long msg)

  10. I just found your channel. Where do you live that you can grow all the plants that you’re growing in pots?

  11. I just love love love your channel. I am so happy I ran across it. I have half an acre in Maui and start to get frustrated trying to care for it all. I am retired but I am now older and not as strong as I used to be. Then I saw what you do in a place that has winter. Your yard is gorgeous and inspirational. So anytime I get frustrated fighting insects, fungus, bacteria and hurricanes, I look to your videos and get inspired all over again. Thanks and stay healthy I need your garden, attitude and menagerie to keep smiling and growing.

  12. I like your videos. It gives me ideas. And also I can watch your whole videos. Usually if a video is too long, it's hard to watch the whole thing, but your videos are very watchable. I'm glad you have a YouTube channel. 🌿
