Planting Garlic in the GREENSTALK Vertical Garden | Strategize and Customize

#greenstalk #gardeningtips #farmstead #verticalgardening
Let’s use some strategy and customization in planting garlic in a GREENSTALK Vertical Garden. I have 5 GREENSTALK Vertical Gardens on the FARMSTEAD and I am creating a garlic greenstalk by taking 2 leaf tiers and 2 original tiers and combining them so that I can figure out which tier size works best for growing German Hardneck Garlic. I am adding phosphate, potassium, and blood meal to tiers so that when the roots start forming there will be nutrient dense soil. These tiers will need to be fertilized again closer to spring as they are heavy feeders. There is a lot of information about how to grow hard neck and soft neck garlic in a container and some of it is conflicting. This means I am just going to make an executive decision on how to plant it and just do it. Finding out what doesn’t work is a critical part of moving towards success. Let’s plant these together and then check back in the spring. Depending on how they turn out, I will tweak what I do the next year. This hard neck garlic does well in really cold climates. Don’t be afraid to try it!
