Front Yard Garden

Front Yard Paver Patio Construction Time Lapse

Time lapse video of a small front yard patio/entryway and sitting wall installed by Nicholas R. Jane Landscapes Inc. in Douglas MA. The job was completed in 5 days. All products used in this project were from Unilock. The main body of the patio was Beacon Hill Flagstone. The boarder blocks were Copthorne and Brussels Block. The sitting wall was made out of Estate Wall with Estate Wall caps and the pillar caps are Ledgestone pillar caps.

  1. Would have been good to see what the owners wanted to put out there. It looks a bit bare.

  2. It looked better before but it would look more nice if they layed some turf and put some gardens and colour.other than that nice job!

  3. I find myself questioning how the wall doesn't move when it is just sitting on 3/4 clear? What am I missing? I get that they probably used PL premium or another adhesive for the rows above….right? but the foundation is the most important. Is this just the way it is done? And I am not ragging on this group of guys, I seen it on almost every other video I have watched. Just curious is all.

  4. Why did you did that really deep trench out for the wall only to fill the entire thing all the way back up and set the blocks at finished grade anyway? Why not just dig the entire patio and wall out and set on the same base? By putting 3/4 clean under the wall the water is going to collect there, so it is actually encouraging the wall to move during a freeze thaw cycle, then the limestone treads are more likely to crack. You seem to have built a moat, once the soil freezes around it, it now captures the water more easily and is trapped there. The first course(s) of any wall should be filled with impervious base material, not drainage materials, till it gets above grade. Maybe your climate conditions are different where you are, but that would not work around here. Even if you are in a non freeze area, you are still saturating the soils under the wall and encouraging movement.

  5. personally the before looked better. That amount of stone in the front seem so over the top for that average of a home.

  7. It looks nice but there was an incredible amount of work for the outcome.  First, why in the world would they do such a tremendous amount of work and leave that old pre-cast concrete steps and cheap railing??  Second- there looks like no drainage at/near the wall.  Where does the water go when you hose it down??  Looks like it gets trapped at the curve.  Could have been a lot nicer with a little insight and planning.

  8. I'd have raiser the steps to about 3/4 in of the door then topped it off with an entry cover.

  9. Should have redone the steps. The first step is way to short now. Cutting corners doesn’t look good.

  10. Absolutely beautiful 👌😮😊!
What a bunch of hard workers, wow!!! It looks expensive and well done.
