Fall Gardening 101 #shorts #gardening

👩‍🌾If I was a first time fall gardener, starting a fall garden, what advice would I need 🤔:

💚Here is a few tips and tricks for a successful fall garden 🙏🤩:

✔️Succession sow from late june (cabbage, cauliflower and calabrese) to mid september, depending on your zone, that way you will hit the sweet spot for each crop you try to grow👍

✔️Write down and mark all your seedlings, so that you can log the progress depending on sowing time 👍

✔️ First frost date and when light levels get too low to support growth is key to getting the sowing time right 👍

✔️ ‘days to maturety’ – add more days the later in fall is gets – ‘days to maturety’ is under perfect growing conditions, those conditions decrease the later in the year it gets, so add some days to make sure your crop reaches maturety 👍

✔️Start simple – kohlrabi, turnips, lettuce and radish are easy to grow and quick to germinate👌

✔️Protect your seedlings at all times especially if they are from the brassica family, the pests are ruthless this time of year

✔️Don’t give up you can do it🙏👩‍🌾🤩 You might not get it right the first time, but if you sow some different things and keep it simple – something will turn out great for you – focus on that 🙏💪🤩🤗

👩‍🌾Fall gardening CAN be a bit tricky, but ohhhh the rewards, when you finally get it right.

🤩And the fall garden can many places be extended into the winter, for that all year supply of fresh greens and cabbages👌😍
