  1. Don't make raised garden beds but a somewhat medium greenhouse! And I plant tulips 3 times in the year because I want flowers all through until fall.

  2. Sounds amazing!! I truly love your little tree! Hubby & I are growing a garden in bags & pots because our yard is super hard! Snapdragons pop up like 3 weeks after they are planted in the ground…& they are a fun additive to you backyard! LOL! When we moved in & my kids were younger, I made a herb garden & one side off the literal track were for the trolls & the other were for my gnomes! HAHAHAHA! I am so excited for you! 🙂 Peace out!

  3. I would definitely wait until it's warmer to plant. I to rent therefore I'm limited as to what I can do. I usually plant annuals and get a nice planter for the front porch. Stay safe and well.

  4. Looking forward to seeing what you do. I'm thinking I am going to put some of my cacti out on the little balcony if they don't rip it down…I'd like to see if they do some growing 🙂

  5. Yup, tulips need to be planted in the fall💚🙃were you waving to me?💚🙃 that’s vinca vine not ivy my dear. And angel trumpets will not come back unless they dropped seeds.💚🙃P.S. angel trumpet or burgsmansia are poisonous.💚🙃 TIP:don’t look up with your mouth open looking for birds💚🙃 They do make really large grow bags. I bought mine at I think it’s called gardeners mega store? What kind of light does your tree fence get? Although you do sound like you know about the needs of plants grown outdoors. I’m going to try cucumbers, beans and Melons growing on a trellis and maybe experiment with a watermelon also. Good luck to you and please keep us posted on your garden💚🙃 I wouldn’t put the tomatoes out until your last freeze date. They like WARM weather. Lettuce can go out now, their a cool weather crop💚🙃

  6. I love the grow bag idea for your veggies! It is too late for Tulips, but there are lots of other flowers you can plant now from seed. They even sell bags of wildflower seeds, if you want something with mixed flowers. Looking forward to seeing your garden!

  7. Im doing all my food in containers again this year. I find it much more practical because my back porch gets the most sun! Very excited about all the things I'm about to plant!

  8. Do perennials…hostas, daylilies, hydrangeas, azaleas, clematis up a trellis. Then in the fall you can plant spring flowering bulbs.

  9. Love the inspiration 🙌
I’m doing the same thing, what can go here, sun loving, shade loving ugh so much to think about but we love it right?
Anything to take our minds off of the current state we are living in😷
Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Don’t forget last year when you were overwhelmed with all the plants to bring back inside, the struggle is real lol but so much fun😍🌱happy planting
    PS love the visuals😉

  10. I would love to send you pictures of my jungle, I'll try thru IG. I'm old and I don't know how to use IG🤪🤗👍🤟🤩

  11. Yay! Ur backyard! U have a lot of good space?I’m having trouble with figuring out how I am going to get plants… as I can’t leave the house.I’ve ordered house plants by mail.. never anything for outdoors 🤔

I loved the editing with the plants u envision ❤️

  12. Grow bags will work great! I definitely love your plans so far, It will be easier once you get everything out there and you can move stuff around and play with ideas But you should Check out Calikim29 , yes she does live in California but she still has a modest sized yard and great ideas, she also started seeds indoors and has great, inexpensive tips and tricks! lol … I'm doing the same but we own and my hub-bub (husband) made me 3 garden boxes last year. I planted waaaay to many vegetables so this year I'm so super excited because I bought a ton of flower seeds plus planted a bunch of bulbs in the Fall! I'm going to mix it up between flowers and vegis… I gots me a plan sis! I'm looking forward to see what you come up with. I love Spring and gardening. I'm pumped! lol… thank you for sharing. Stay safe and home! UGH 🙂 PS … I always wait for Mothers Day before putting anything outside. We (you and I) live in zone 5b. I'm in McHenry so I know we have the same zone. April has had many snowstorms around these parts, as you know, so don't put anything outside until May and my rule of thumb has always been Mom's Day. It works!

  13. I know, I talk a lot… What do you think about sunflowers along your fence? I'm doing it myself. They are very easy to sow the seeds right outside in the ground, after last frost of course,(wait for Mothers Day) just till the ground along the fence line, make a little hole, drop in a seed, germination is very good with sun flowers, keep them moist until they pop up, then watch them grow! I would plant your bulbs in the Fall for the following year. ok hun, good luck!

  14. Ooo, you should maybe grow some climbing nasturtiums, the leaves and flowers of the plant are edible and people usually put them in their salads for presentation but anyways 😂 you should have them climb up your trellis you have!! Also there are creeping nasturtiums too to use as a ground cover!! Keep up the great planty videos!! 💚💚

  15. Love how you used the graphics to show what you were thinking! Will you be able to the supplies you need for the garden during lock-down? All my balcony gardening plans are on hold… can't get what I need delivered.

  16. Yay…veggie grow bags. We have lettuce, beets, carrots, and potatoes coming up. Oh..wait..green onions too are starting to show, and I’m going to put some edible peas in the pod in one and start some zucchini or cucumbers. Did you watch Epic Gardening, the grow beds he has are great. We have a veggie garden for things like peppers, corn, tomatoes, green beans and maybe a watermelon in a little space. Love Garden Answer too.

  17. Hi Nicole, I am so excited for the weather to get warmer because I have so many outside projects and ideas to beautify my yard, mine is my own, so I guess I can dig up, move around, change out and add things, lol. it's all a work in progress. I would love to be able to put some of my house plants outside, but unless I have the room when it comes time to bring them in I can't really see it. I always love when you style your outside area, like all of the succulents you had on your table, and the ones sitting on the tree stumps, it just gave me so many ideas that this year I would like to try a few. If I get some of them implemented I will try to share pictures on Instagram and tag my plant tubers. Thanks Nicole, always so good to see you and happy you are staying safe and healthy, sending love and lots of hugs, bye for now.

  18. The visuals you put in were awesome!I would love to see what seeds you have started already. Do you have seeds for direct sewing? I've never grown in a bag, but I would love to see how you do that. I scattered a bunch of lettuce, spinach, and sweat peas in a raised bed and just crossing my fingers🤣 I'd also be interested in how you sew flowers, direct? Tulips are beautiful but you're right, a bit late now to start from a bulb. Can you plant dahlias now and plant tulips in the fall/winter? What's your growing zone? Sorry, that was a lot of questions, but I'm just "putting suggestions in the box" so to speak. I hope we get to see you dress up the backyard with some amazing plants!

  19. Your gardening outfit is my gardening outfit, my daily outfit these days actually lol.

  20. You have such a great space, even if it's not yours. I live in rented space too, but I always defy good reasoning and go ahead and plant in the ground anyway. More recently, I have been enjoying using plastic containers for flowers and vegetables. It's so much easier to move them around throughout the summer if you need to.
I love your idea of using grow bags and maybe those elevated wooden beds (really cool!). It's a little frustrating having to plan a temporary garden, but it's awesome that you still plan on growing where you are; way to work the problem, Nicole!!

  21. Tulips are nice, but you won't have them in bloom for too long. Snapdragons will bloom all summer long. You should also try Zinnias–my FAVORITES! So easy to grow and beautiful bounteous flowers.

  22. there are also really large grow bag planterss, more like the size of a small raised bed! another option is to fill one of those cheap plastic kid pools and use that as a raised bed. good luck, and i can't wait to see how your garden fills out 🙂 🙂

  23. How did you put photos where you were thinking of putting things. That is so cool. It is getting nice out and I want to put my succulents in the sun room, but I know it will get to cold at night. Spring is in the air ☺️

  24. I need this shirt! Your plans sound great. This was my first year using raised beds. I followed epic gardenings video for affordable beds with supplies from home depot.

  25. I really enjoy Garden Answer's videos too but also don't have enough outdoor space to imagine some of the projects she does in my house. xD
