Hi, this is Andrew here representing GeoPots at Pacific Northwest Garden Supply customer appreciation day 2014. I want to introduce you to our brand of fabric pot, the GeoPot.
What’s nice about this a nice square bottom, but the real benefits are what happens when you use fabric pots: the air-root pruning. As the roots grow through the fabrics, this is completely breathable, they’re going to get air-root pruned, which basically means they’re not going to grow in the air. It’s going to divert the root growth and it’s going to put out feeder roots instead of taproots, which are much more efficient to take in nutrients as well as water.
Some other great benefits of this is once your medium has been fully saturated, there’s no way for it to sit. It’s going to come out the sides of the pot. Also since it’s completely breathable, your roots like to breathe just as much as you do, so it’s going to allow air to get into your root zone, allow for much healthier plants, much less root rot, any kind of anaerobic bacteria disease.
We use marine thread, so this is designed for sails for sailboats, so it’s completely UV stable as well as sustainable to stand up to saltwater, so that really adds to the longevity of our pots. They’re designed to last for 4 to 5 years. Quadruple stitch, real nice and strong. Our handles, we also sew in individually. Those are nice and strong as well.
So we make the GeoPots in any size from half a gallon all the way up to 1,000 gallons, so we have GeoPots for every size grower you can imagine.
