what is fol-fol-liage?
Do you have some tree suggestions that will grow only to 7-10 feet at maturity. I have a 30' wide and 15' depth front yard and would like to add 3 small trees along my side of the front sidewalk area. This little slice is north of my home and far away enough it gets near full sun. I have been searching for months and everything I have found is either dwarf for a patio pot or "small" is described as 25'-30' height. My main interest are trees that won't grow over 12' tall — ever. I would prefer a deciduous with just leaves, or with blooms or blooms & fruiting. I live in an area that used to be a Douglas Fir tree grove with 70' + trees, nearly 100 yrs old. I want quaint little decorative trees that won't overshadow my yard & home and that I can enjoy year-round interest. I welcome all cultivars that will grow in 8b western Oregon up to 10' but one caveat NO JAPENESE MAPLES, everyone seems to have those (even my next door neighbors) and I want something with somewhat larger leaves, even as large as Magnolia size leaves if the tree will only grow to 10'. I am 60 yo so I don't want a tree that will take 30 yrs to grow to 10' at maturity. I have listened to & watched your video so many times that now I understand your vernacular perfectly. I live in a regular neighborhood, but what if I were in a Mobile Home Park and had the 10' tall tree stipulation, surely there are communities who have figured it out. Maybe you have an insight into those areas. Again, zone 8b western Oregon but not nearly as wet as it was, even 10 yrs ago. This past 3 summers have been little to no rain for the entire 3 months (but I'm ok with watering, just want you to know we are not living in constant water/bog conditions : ) Rather Oregon is so dry now in once were wet areas, that wild fires were the topic of the day (like northern California). Thank you so very much! Katherine : D ps I hope my request also means — trees that are most resistant to disease, borers, fungus….
