  1. I would say that cherry tomatoes is what i would recommend for any beginner grower as they yield so much and are easier to care for compared to some other varieties.

P.S. Saw your comment on Mark's channel earlier and i must say that it is so true but i also love the fact the we have such an amazing community on YT both viewers and content creators. I love how we can inspire and support each other and share the same passion for gardening from all over the world! Best wishes from the UK.

  2. If you're taking recommendations for cherry tomatoes, I'd like to throw in the Midnight Snack hybrid. It's an older AAS winner and we absolutely love it! It's very sweet and has anthocyanins; so it turns black where the sun directly hits it. Both eyecatching and delicious! I'm growing them for the first time this year, but you might also want to keep your eye out on an open-pollinated variety called Isis Candy. Loads of YouTubers have been raving about it so I wanted to give it a shot. Cheers!

  3. Iโ€™m growing Black Cherry, Sunsugar, Prescott Cherry, Kiss the Sky, and dwarf Eagle Smiley. So far, Sunsugar is the first to ripen. So far, Prescott Cherry has the best fruit set and might be a better variety for the AZ desert. Cheers!

  4. I planted florida Everglades cherry tomato in 9b. Small fruits but very flavored. Eat them in garden. Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ– ๐Ÿ

  5. This year for my cherry/cocktail tomatoes I am growing Barry's Crazy Cherry (new), Blush (new), Iva's Red Berry (new), Karma Miracle (repeat from last year), Black Strawberry Tomato (new), Pink Princess (surprise favorite from the garden last year that earned 2 spots in my garden this year, highly recommend this one), Prairie Fire (new), Rosella (new, but reading about it, it might be a great fit for your dark cherry), and Sungold (a repeat for me for a few years). Thanks for sharing your suggestions and experience with us!

  6. My daughter will only eat Sun Sugar. She is in her 20โ€™s and doesnโ€™t even like ketchup. I did get her to try Black Krim on her Blt because she would just have lettuce and bacon. So now there are two she will eat! Going to have to try the sweet VF 100โ€™s!

  7. Where did you get these specific ones? Seedlings? At a nursery? Bonnies? Burpee? Thanks for replying

  8. I grew the super sweet 100 and sun sugar this year in EarthBoxes.. they have been producing abundantly in the South Texas heat with temperatures reaching 100+. In my wifeโ€™s opinion the sun sugar wins the taste test but the super sweet is a very close second while producing quite a bit more.

  9. I'm growing 3 of your 4 cherry tomatoes. I don't have the Sungold this year, but put in 2 of the Sun Sugar. I also have a Chocolate Cherry. First time growing it.

  10. I got the Sun Gold this year. I canโ€™t wait to try it! Thanks so much for sharing this info! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

  11. I got a cherry tomato challenge for you. If in the end Sunsugar does beat parent Sungold, which I predict it will. Then you must do a heads up competition between the Super Sweet and Sweet Million.
While SS 100 might slightly beat Sweet Million in a blind taste test. Sweet Million is more heat tolerant, and prolific. Sweet Million is NOT a sweat tasting cherry as named, it is very intense, but not sweet.
PS. Save some Sunsugar seeds, if you like it. It is a extremely unstable hybrid. But no noticeable morphs will occur until F-3 plants are attempted. Sweet Million is fairly stable, serious morphs will not be seen until F-4 are attempted.

  12. Would be good to see your methodology on cherry tomatoes on the string trellis. Does that video already exist?

  13. Try Honeycomb variety! It's a must. Much better tasting than sweet 100 or sun gold. And survived all summer for us here in Cary, NC. No cracking at all

  14. I grew sun sugar on a whim last year and there's no looking back. It is everyone's favorite, hands down. Our previous favorite was black cherry but sun sugar just blows it out of the water both in flavor and productivity.

  15. I can vouch for Sun Gold. It is excellent and much sweeter than most varieties. I've had problems with splitting though just like you said.

  16. I'm so glad you're growing Black Cherry! I was one of the ones who urged you to try it. ๐Ÿ™‚ They do take a while to develop and ripen, but totally worth it.

  17. We recently tried a few Sunsugar, Eagle Smiley, and Prescott Cherry tomatoes and found them to have typical cherry tomato taste. Hopefully, the taste will improve as we pick more tomatoes but if not, we wonโ€™t be growing them again. We still have to try Black Cherry and Kiss the Sky tomatoes. I was going to grow Sungold but didnโ€™t because itโ€™s prone to splitting; however, in hindsight I should have tried it.

  18. Iโ€™ve grown alot of cherry tomatoes and can assure everyone that the SUN GOLD is by far the best. Of course we all have different opinions and tastes but you wonโ€™t be disappointed.

  19. Grew sun gold last year. 100% agree.
You might want to try Brad's Atomic Grape. The taste and looks are amazing! They are multicolor, mostly black and orange. I will always grow a few.
This year I'm trying for the first time Barry's crazy cherry. Nothing is ripe yet, but they have full clusters of great looking tomatoes.

  20. Thanks! I'm a huge fan of Cherry Tomatoes! I'm already growing the Super Sweet VF100. I'm going to try & grow the Other 3๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…

  21. Do you sell the seeds for these 4 varieties, if not, where do you like to purchase from?

  22. I know this video is about tomatoes ๐Ÿ˜ but Iโ€™d love to know what variety Sunflower ๐ŸŒป you have growing in the background ๐Ÿ˜….
