My first time lapse of orchids blooming!

What is even more impressive is how these orchids are cared for – the cleaning lady (not my house) 📷 2) fills a large shallow saucer of water and leaves the orchids’ plastic pots sitting in the pool of water. She only comes by to do this every 2 weeks. By the time she returns, the pool of water has evaporated while the orchid potting medium (mostly bark) is still partially moist. How is it possible that she can simply leave these orchids sitting in a pool of water without the roots rotting away? LIGHT! Consider #whatmyplantsees 📷 3) these orchids see the sky all day and see the sun for a few hours in the afternoon (you can see the sun passing by in the time lapse). The view of the sky is large because the plants are just a foot away from the window and since this is on an upper floor, there are no outoor obstructions. This cleaning lady would definitely say orchid care is “easy”, requiring just 10-15 minutes of attention every 2 weeks – her job is easy because the plants are working. Plants only work when the light is right!
