  1. Yay!!! Get rid of all that landscape fabric! It’s gotta go … big potential for sure. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒ±

  2. I love your β€œfaith in planting β€œ attitude. It is refreshing and true about life in general. Rarely do we have the perfect ending rather we find joy in the messy!

  3. I have some lamium that really took off this year, after years of just lingering. Might move some of it this fall. Thanks for your β€œreality” video, it’s not all pretty when we’re done but we know the beauty is coming soon.

  4. Hi Janey 🌺the Lamium plants they will be beautiful under the hydrangeas when they grow well .Have awonderful day .πŸ¦‹πŸŒ»πŸ¦‹

  5. Good morning Janey. . What can I say? These videos keep getting better and better – with supeb production value and definitely exhibit your sense of garden design and aesthetics. That being said, have a wonderful Monday. and TYFS. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

  6. I tried underplanting but in reality you’re only switching one mess for another, the seeds sprout and grow in between the ground cover plants. One way to control the mulch from spilling onto the walkway is to add a taller edger all along.

  7. That area is going to look so good when they fill in. I totally understand having a pet that chews on certain plants. My dog likes the flowers on tropical hibiscus. She doesn’t bother anything else. Have a wonderful day.

  8. Oh my goodness! It must be impossible to keep all that mulch the birds and squirrels spread around out of your swimming pool!! The underplanting should work so much better.

  9. I was so upset when they built my pool on a slope but now I am so happy because the decking stays clean. I had bermude sod laid to control erosion, but then I wanted to conceal the slope by planting limelight prime hydrangeas. So long story short bermuda grass in under my limelights and both the grass and hydrangeas are very happy and my pool decking is clean. If the lamium isn't satisfactory, try mondo grass or liriope.

  10. I think it is going to look wonderful. Hey it is reL life! Things don't look great in gardening all the time.

  11. I love just how refreshed and how more breathable that area looks now that you removed the landscape fabric has been removed. It is amazing how the fabric makes the garden to me looks like it is restricting the air flow gardens need. I feel that the limelight hydrangeas will do much better. I to have faith in what you did with area. Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

  12. Janey that area looks so much better !!! So nice getting rid of the horrible landscape fabric !

  13. You could put fabric and rock under right around the pool deck & easy when hosing also bird cant push rock around the bark dust or soil

  14. Hey, don’t apologize at all…that’s real gardening! I look forward to seeing how it turns out! Great job!!πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

  15. I am a new subscriber of yours and I am really enjoying your videos for the past two days. I am happy to find someone from my zone 9b. Can you please do a video on your top plants that don’t need lot of water to survive in our zone?

  16. It's going to look great. I have a question. I do not have a system set up yet for watering and I'm looking to start one. I don't know where to go and what to look for. Can you provide links for the set up that you use. Thank you.

  17. Janey, it all looks so perfect now around your pool area. Here in the Midwest, Illinois to be exact, as a perennial ground cover we plant "creeping phlox" that spreads each year with soft pink, dark pink, lavender, white, and gray blooms each Spring before Summer and then remains a green ground cover and never dies. Ground covers are miracle workers for hard to grow grass areas and keeping weeds out. Well done, Janey! πŸ’•πŸ’•

  18. You have been truly my favorite gardening video's. I look forward to seeing them each day. Thank you for all you're hard work and sharing all the information and all you're hard work. πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±

  19. It’s refreshing to see a real life project. Don’t apologize for working with what you have! It’ll turn out great! ❀

  20. I think it will look fabulous! My lamium spread everywhere in my bed and looked great. No fuss Then about a month ago something started eating it. Now it looks like a carpet of green swiss cheese πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ It looks so horrible. And it's right by my front door. The nerve of these bugs!! πŸ›πŸŒ

  21. Your beautiful smile makes me smile. My husband is making me a oblisck likes yours for my birthday. Too hot where I live for Clematis sadly any ideas other than Jasmine?

  22. Janey, beautiful. I’ve decided in my Texas zone 9b I love the morning glory for my ground cover for the front of my bed. They are gorgeous. How is yours doing?

  23. Love your faith in gardening! Looks much better! Can't wait to see what it looks like in the spring! Good luck!❀️😎

  24. They will come back. Just need a little TLC. I was able to get those landscape staples at ACE Hardware in my town. If you are close to an ACE maybe yours would also have them.

  25. I think you are right about the lamium rooting in as long as they have enough water, good luck! It's going to look beautiful.

  26. I love Lamium, and mine was doing so well here in San Diego until the mice got a hold of them. They ate every single bit of them😠 I wish for the best of luck, and be thankful you have a cat!

  27. I think they are going to do very well, and I love your idea of planting the Lamium under the Hydrangeas. Looking forward to a follow-up!
