It’s been 4 weeks since we planted our $20 budget Dollar Tree container garden using only their $0.25 American Seed Company seeds and $1.25 dollar tree soil. Let’s see how the germination rate turned out and how the soil performed!

FYI the tomato rocket never works if you follow the directions on the box LOL you should get another one and try it this way…I promise it will work… You have to unroll that roll and cut it into strips and just lay them flat and plant it that way…I don't know who came up with that dumb way they said to do it… All the rockets work much better if you unroll them and just plant them as pieces of a sheet…

That's a great haul for $20 and not bad on the germination rate either. Please don't feel like you're cheating when it comes to adding some fertilizer. I get that you're doing an experiment, but all plants need some good fertilizer at the point that you're at in the process. Go for it sister! PS: I got 2 Tomato rockets and have only used one so far to test as well. I planted it like the instructions said and have 5 babies so far. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked. When it comes to the second one, I'm going to unroll it and plant it that way. Best of luck to you and Happy Gardening!
No don't waist your money put the fertilizer in it
No I think you should add a little fertilizer ..I would mix in a different type soil.. some miracle grow or ..Buy a bag of Epson salt at Walmart ..mine cost five dollars last year.. it was a big bag ..And last for years.. it works great 1 teaspoons sprinkled on top of the soil or mix 1 teaspoon and a quart of water and water your plants .. it really works ..I know you’re trying to keep it at $20 but ..You need to lighten up the soil a bit..We had a different type vermiculite type of soil here at our dollar tree stores..I see this is your update ..thanks a lot🥰🥰

Yes you put some fertilizer on them put some fish liquid fertilizer 0n them good job!!
