  1. Nice one Ray. I do something very very similar.
I use "spent" compost for the container then wiggle a hole for each station and fill that with fresh seed compost (no feed)

  2. Ray, what is the benefit of putting the bottomless pots in the container as opposed to just planting straight in the container?

  3. Just picking your brain here Ray 😊 when they grow, will you then replant the parsnips out or keep them in that box? And why do you cover them up completely apart from the obvious cold… dont they need light to grow?? Apart from that, what a great idea! All I need to do is find some boxes or recycling boxes that size and shape! Loving the morning light.. beautiful

  4. Great video ray no bull just straight to the point love your videos hope you no don’t mind me commenting 🀝

  5. What a great channel. I've subscribed. I'm totally new to gardening and only have a couple of balconies as space as I live in a flat. I have a container of carrots that I sowed on the 5th Sep and a couple more which I sowed yesterday. Also some melon and bell pepper plants which I grew from seed from supermarket bought produce. Going to try some onions as well. Thanks for this video.

  6. I guess I don't "get" the need for the nursery pots inside the tote? All I saw was lots of wasted space whereas you could have gotten in a few more carrots and/or parsnips. But thats just me. I have several 17 gallon rope handle buckets I use to plant in (currently onions, pumpkins, parsnips, carrots, garlic, brussels sprouts, peas and soon rutabagas and celery).

  7. Tsy a good to grow carrots use a 50.. 50. Mix compost and sharp sand
Make holes lut a couple of seeds in holes of the mix sharp sand and compost and fill holes with compost
Thin the weaker of the two carrots and will get nice ll g carrots I also do them in two foot lengths of downright guttering with the grandkids great vid buddy

  8. What will you do with the compost after harvest? Can you grow again in the same tub the next growing year? Like your videos Ray,cheers!

  9. You are so practical – you just get down to business – no hype and long intro's. Also a jobber using whatever comes to hand as you tools. Best advice I have seen….
