  3. I've been thinking for years I don't have enough room to grow veggies in my garden. BUT I DO NOW… I can use tubs bags and pots and buckets anything. And anything biodegradable for the main fill.
    I'm inspired..tyty

  4. I repurposed some large wooden horse feeder boxes and they are deep like raised beds so when we did some tree trimming I put small logs and large branches to fill up half the box first, then added smaller branches and twigs and probably only 1/3 of garden soil on the top and to fill in. Eventually it will all breakdown creating more soil. But didn’t need to waste soil building up the bed. There is a term for it but I can’t remember (putting logs and branches on the bottom) I learned this from another YouTube video.

  5. I live where the mountains meet the desert in Southern California where we have 4 seasons and limited direct sunlight due to the mountains.

Do you think Sagebrush will work as compost as well as leaves. This weekend I am gonna pick up a couple more totes and expand my small garden. We only have 5 trees on our 2.5 acres: a Scrub Oak, and 4 pepper trees. But tons of Sagebrush, Rabbit brush and other native plants. Keep up the great work.

  6. Where do you get your plastic chairs….I've looked at Walmart and Target….can't find even one!

  7. I love your channel Robbie I just switched from another lady who was doing a whole thing on container gardens it popped up in my feed and she’s got all these expensive grow bags on a deck with super expensive soil and fertilizers and really expensive silver trellises from the garden center oh my God by the time I got done I was like I’m going back to Robbie that is ridiculous honestly she might as well go shopping at the store because she spending enough to buy a car just putting together her garden.

She also did put down the plastic totes and said that they create root balling, compared to the expensive grow bags she uses.
Maybe you might comment on that if that were the case I don’t think you’d be using them and neither would others.

  8. I think that in due time , everyone will finally understand the awesomeness of this method . I know I’m convinced.

  9. Came across your channel, really like it! I enjoy the info you share. Kindly, Em

  10. Many Thanks for all your information and cheerful incentive, you have been such an inspiration to me,and thanks to you I actually have a “container” garden and loving it.Just getting going here in British Columbia but I can see it’s going to be fantastic. Happy planting to you, many thanks👋🥰👋

  11. Wow just wow. I am so excited by your method (and teaching techniques) I started my tote garden last month, and everything is exploding in it! I'm sharing everything you've taught me and what I learn with whoever will listen. Most respectfully yours Gardener4Ever

  12. QUESTION: I haven't started my container garden but plan to TODAY lol hoping something will grow before its to late. I saw how you added things to the tote, I HAVE TOTES, so would cardboard be ok. I don't have the strength to cut it up in pieces with my hands, if I just wet it, to make it limber, would that suffice? Then put potting soil, worm castings, and some other thing I got, I forget what it's called and also bone meal. Is it to late to plant potatoes? I've been sick and just now coming back but pushing myself to get it done. thanks

  13. My dad is 93 he has always had garden this is first time he says no more wish I could get him into container garden

  14. Oh Robbie, you are a TREASURE!! I have shared your videos with many of my family and friends. We have all been talking about trying to grow a few things, but have been too afraid that it will be hard or unsuccessful. I stumbled onto your channel, watched a couple videos and I’m ready to end world hunger from a container garden! You are precious… keep being exactly who God made you to be! You are positive, encouraging, inspiring, and just completely delightful ❤️Thank you, thank, thank you for your wisdom!! I wish I could give you a big hug… you’re like my favorite auntie, lol!! God bless you!! 💗🪴🙏🏻

  15. Thank you Robbie, for teaching us about using totes! We've been watching you & Gary's channel for at least 6 or 7 years now. We were renting, so we started off successfully growing tomatoes in one tote. Since then, we kept adding on more totes. We're now growing quite a variety of trees, veggies, fruit & flowers in at least 2 dozen totes & containers in our own yard! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have what we have because of the gophers! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Blessings to you both, your family & of course, your pups, hummingbirds, birds, lizards, fish & dragonflies! 💜

  16. I notice the empty buckets under the chair containers in the rainbow garden…is this to recycle and catch water??? I started doing something similar with trays under my raised containers to catch rain and recycle water.

  17. Im SO inspired by you ! Why do you have the small buckets under the chairs in your rainbow garden ? I was thinking to catch the water as it drains but as you advised it’s best not to put holes on the bottom . Thank you for helping us make gardening fun and easy

  18. I've just implemented your system. It doesn't make sense that I have to purchase soil when I can make my own 🤣🤣🤣
