Kidding Soon and Vegetable Garden Plans

Is Kitty Kidding Soon? Can you guess when and how many? Vegetable Garden Plans don’t always have to be exact. A rough idea where things will go can help you along the way!

Spring Seed Starting Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vPR6V7g9UbafkSJLdqjaJS28Gb27W0buEq45pGiSTdw/edit?usp=sharing

You can download a copy.

The original should not allow you to change anything in it.
Download a copy and you should be able to edit your copy. Click File and then Make a Copy.

Then you change the date in the top left corner in yellow. That is supposed to be your last frost date.

ONLY change the date in yellow to your frost free date and the dates to sow seeds will change. Changing other cells could alter the equation.

You can find your last frost Date here!

  1. Its in the single digits here. We have one dog and five goats and one sheep close to giving birth. I have been bribing them to hold out a couple days. I hope kiddy gives you quads. Does too.

  2. March 9th and three kids! I was so excited when I got my goat monthly magazine and saw quotes from you in one of the sections!

  3. I agree, 2 kids and either on her due date or after. She doesn't look as though she will go too soon, in my humble opinion. I thought Autumn was a normal looking kid when she was born? Goats also love dock.

  4. Dr Lee's Uncle Floyed, (he's from out on the ranch) says let it rain, we will drink it one day.
Getting ready to be a Shepard Mommy yay!
    Go Autumn!

  5. Your garden is thriving! Kitty will last until March 8th and give you two kids in the early morning. I admire your dedication to little Autumn and I pray your efforts are rewarded. And you are right; you can't just turn your back on family no matter how difficult it gets, regardless of species.

  6. wow you have such a heart for animals, bless you Rose. thnx for sharing with us your journey, congrats and I'm impressed with all your knowledge and master gardening training you've had. I kinda envy you, and want to seek more training myself, just so I can be better at it.

  7. We have a TERRIBLE level of rain here in northern ALabama too. I had to dig trenches around my bantam coop and it looks like a moat. I seriously think I am going to have to do the same for the garden.

  8. You know we are leaving her care in your hands. You… like us, love her deeply. I pray every day that she improves and some day see her running behind you again.

  9. A child's portable wheelchair wheels and cutting into leather bottom seat for Autumn's head to go through, tops of wheelchair off, arms detached, might go across pasture much easier. Wheels in front of her back legs and behind her legs might make a smoother ride across pasture also. I am no builder of anything but know the difference in the struggle of having to cross the terrain with wheelchairs. Normal wheels to just push across a tarred road, sidewalk is torture with no one in the wheelchair. The fatter taller wheels 8"s go across tar like super fast and can go across yards better. She may not be able to get going because of the wheels. I know it sounds crazy, but four wheelchairs later. I now have one my husband and sons can push me in with ease. Thanks for Amazon return and shipping to work with us! I'm pretty sure someone in the area would know of a wheelchair that's life of serving a human is over and a baby goat could have the wheels! Start calling facilities. My Walker wheels get stuck on the least little imperfections on my walkway. Tar not as bad.

  10. Looks like Kitty is ready now…lol..I think 2 kids.. I am looking for daffodils to get planted. So far nobody has them available. We are also getting freezing temps and I had to cover 2 of my grow beds..

  11. Your seedlings are looking great! Autumn looks very happy I hope she can walk at some point. Praying for all affecting by the tornados. I have a dear friend in Alabama and her community was affected. Kitty will go March 8 th and have 2 babies.

  12. Usually dock leaves always grow beside stinging nettles, that way if you do get stung by the nettle you rub it with a dock leaf and the pain goes away.

  13. So happy to see Autumn doing so well. How sweet of you to go the extra mile for that sweet girl. Bless you for your loving care.

  14. 12 degrees here with a wind chili feel of -3. Need spring. Yes prayers are being said. So many lives lost. My seeds are just starting to come up. My husband was teasing me because I was talking to my little baby plants that are starting to poke their heads up. I really am praying for a great garden this year. Was blessed with some seeds and will plant them. Bought a few packs of 20 cent seeds( not to much hope for them) Gave it to God he does provide. You are a dear person and love learning from you . God's blessing to you and yours.

  15. Getting so excited and antsy about getting out there and planting, but I know I have to have patience. Been caught by late freezes before. We typically have our last freeze about March 12th, but can be as late as March 21….so I have to sit tight for a few more weeks! Love hearing your plans.

  16. Our last frost date is the 23rd really want to be out in garden. Glad Autumn is doing better hope she gets better faster. Good luck.

  17. Wow, Look at Autumn ! Almost looks like if she had a rubber horse mat under there she would have taken off!
I think Kitty will deliver 2 doelings on the 7th.
