Yea, but DE will also kill earth worms which are beneficial for plants.
I have used this for years! I sprinkle it on door jams, countertops, window sills, floors, carpets, etc to kill and keep away ants! On pets it kills fleas! Thank you for the garden info because I will definitely use it!! 🐜🐌
make sure you ALWAYS use the food grade diatomaceous earth. WE ALWAYS USE THIS. it KILLS any insect that has an exoskeletal body. for ants, beetles, BED BUGS, and FLEAS, just sprinkle the dust anywhere they go. insects track this powder on their bodies and carry it right into their nests and it kills all of them. this powder KILLS THE EGGS TOO. in my book, this powder is more than magic. kills tape worms and some parasites INSIDE PETS AND HUMANS. it is safe to ingest. lightly dust your pets food. humans add a little to their juice of coffee. fleas on pet….light;y dust the pet and rub it down through the pets hair so it gets to its scalp. 9 years ago we had a flea infestation so bad that daily i pulled and snapped over 100 fleas on each of our indoor pets. i tried shampooing carpets 3x a week but it didnt change anything. the infestation had gotten too massive and i almost killed our pets with flea shampoo. our legs and ankles were getting eaten up and when we ate meals at the couch, sometimes a flea jumped in my plate. they also hung off my eyebrows sometimes. then a You Tuber was suggesting this diatomaceous earth. its important to sprinkle the cracks of where the carpet meets the wall cuz the fleas hibernate there for years. we have been FLEA FREE ever since. ALSO TICKS. this powder kills ticks. we used to have an infestation of CARPENTER ANTS, but not any more. this powder is an all natural powder. i will never be without a bag of this food grade diatomaceous earth in my house. i used it one winter on the ice on our walkway because we were out of all salts. this powder clung to the ice and made the ice slip-free. the only downside of it was that it clings to your footwear and it tracks into the house. but it did the job i needed it for. you can purchase the powder online. most recently i bought a 10 pound bag off of amazon. i think paid between 12..00-19.00 . this powder is millions of years old, just read up on it.
I understand diamatacious earth also kills earth worms which you dont want as earth worms are good for your garden.

Can you suggest any additive to make fast decompost of tree leaves.
I don't like materials that kill insects as they are also part of the environment, they should only be taken away and far from our plants; I prefer non killing remedies. I'm also not sure diatomacea doesn't hurt our lungs or our pet's lungs when inhaled.
