  1. ๐Ÿ’—So much great information! I had to rewind and pause and take screenshots many times. Thank you!

  2. Beautiful garden, great tips for garden lovers. We love to grow our own veg and herbs. Which is challenging in the cold coast of the UK! Very helpful, thanks for sharing and we are happy to support this channel ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒฑ

  3. My north-side raised beds gardens surprisingly produce wonderful tomato, pepper, and eggplant crops in the summer. My fall and winter gardening there is limited to greens. I think starting my seeds earlier so the plants get a better head start into the fall/winter season will be my goal this year, but even with starting my seeds late, I had amazing success with that area getting practically no sun with the following: turnips, cold-hardy Asian greens I purchased from Bakerโ€™s Creek, lettuce, and kohlrabi and mustard greens. My kohlrabi didnโ€™t produce the roots, but the turnips did. The turnip greens grew faster than anything else in the garden. Iโ€™ll find names of Asian greens if that helps anyone. Even my Swiss chard stayed puny all winter, but I grow it beautifully in the summer.

  4. The greens that worked in almost full shade this winter were: chijimisai, green tatsoi, Shanghai green park choy, yellow heart winter choy. Iโ€™m in zone 8.

  5. Great video! A bit to tack on, for those that want to grow tomatoes but feel you don't have enough sun, I was able to grow cherry tomatoes in my garden last spring in part sun/shade. I think my bed gets maybe 3 hours of direct sunlight, but, and this I think is key, it gets good dappled sunlight throughout the day. For those unfamiliar with that term, it means sunlight that is filtered by things like leaves and branches. Now, you won't get as much production but they will produce! In my little family that is all we need. Of course good soil, proper watering, and proper fertilizing are key!

  6. I LOVE your channel!! You're so good at teaching. You make me feel like I might be able to be a successful gardener one day!! Thank you for inspiring us.

  7. It really helps that you have pictures instead of just talking about it. It's easy for me to remember that way. Fantastic video!

  8. How often do you water your vegees? I noticed you have the Gardeners Supply 6โ€™ stakes that have a screw in ball at the top that hold their netting and you have shade cloth on yours also. How do they hold up? Are they flimsy plastic or sturdy? Iโ€™m in Sierra Vista, AZ and we get tons of wind especially now and I need to put up some shade in my 4×8โ€™ raised beds and I saw these and thought they might work.

  9. So helpful! The explanation about flowering vs root vs leaf vegetables saved me a lot of time. Best shade veg video that I've seen including the big hitter's. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
