The grafted top part potentially died and the rootstock is sending up a branch

It’s still alive but you need to cut off the dead main trunk and hope the living branch at the bottom takes over. Check and see if it’s root bound for sure needs some fertilizer. I’ve got mine in the ground here in central Texas , it died down to the ground in the freeze but is 5 feet tall now and looks good. I water heavy once a week.
