In this garden tour, we’ll be exploring the best growing tips for California in August, as well as recipes and more!
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, this garden tour is for you! We’ll be discussing the different growing seasons in California, as well as the best time of year to plant and grow crops. We’ll also be sharing some delicious recipes for summertime, so you can cook up some tasty eats in the garden!
We first look at all the harvests of fruits and vegetables we made this month, including Hummingbird tree leaves (avisa/agathi keerai), banana bud or flower harvest, bottle gourd (lauki), sweet corn, sour cucumber (dosakkai), eggplants, figs, hyacinth beans (papdi/avarakkai), ivy gourd (tindora), moringa, okra, betel leaf (paan), papaya, chili peppers, ridge gourd (turai), strawberries, taro root (arbi) and tomatoes. Urban gardening at its best!
We then take a tour of the California Garden, including the raised bed tour, container tour as well as the GreenStalk planter tour.
We then look at some things to do this month, including setting up a trellis between raised beds, spraying neem oil on your corn plants and a lot more.
We finally show you a delicious ivy gourd recipe with peanuts/groundnuts.
