Essential oils work. I have been using peppermint oil to manage spider mites and to mask plant scents, along with rosemary oil, for years. I go over the recipes, frequency, how to spray, and how often to use them. This is an ongoing Cucumber Plant Care series for 2021.

Recipes:
I give a range as you want to start with less oil and work you way up to ensure you don’t damage leaves. Always test spray new mixes and look for damage 48 hours later.
These sprays do not deter pollinators.
Peppermint Oil Spray (per gallon or 3.75 liters of water)
1/2 – 1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon of Castile or pure soaps OR 1-2 teaspoons of detergent type soaps
Rosemary Oil Spray (per gallon or 3.75 liters of water)
1/2 – 1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon of Castile or pure soaps OR 1-2 teaspoons of detergent type soaps
For 2021, after experimenting in my garden for years, I am using 2 teaspoons of oil per gallon of water for either peppermint or rosemary or a combination of both oils. I found that mix to be most effective in my a garden with no damage to plants.
