Getting a 40ft high cube shipping container delivered this week. What are some good options for locking/securing the door? I am well aware of “if thieves want it bad enough they’ll get into it” deal. Budget is around $100, but could stretch if a slightly more expensive option is THAT much better than the sub-$100 option.

Here are two I’ve seen on Amazon:

Closer to budget

Above budget, but would consider it if it’s THAT much better

Is this going to be on private land? Middle of a city? Fallujah?

You could just get a chain and a decent padlock. Like you said, if they want it, they’ll get it.

Locks only exist to keep honest people honest. Just get what you can afford. There’s no such thing as an unpick-able or unbreakable lock.

Does the container arrive with a welded lock box, or just the exposed door handles? A photo and the locking-point measurements would help narrow this down before you spend above budget on something that may not fit.
