Hi everyone! We are a small family farm. Since 2021 we have planted and cared for more than 1,000 blueberry bushes in containers, all by hand. Growing in pots lets us control the soil acidity, but it also means the plants depend completely on us for water, especially in hot summers.
Our biggest challenge now is irrigation and protecting the bushes from heat and hail. We are slowly working on it.
Happy to answer any questions about growing blueberries in containers: soil mix, pot size, watering, pruning. Ask away!
If anyone wants to follow or support our little farm, the link is in my profile.

I’m curious about continuing to use pots even at that scale. I would think that when you have that many and that much land to put them on that some kind of soil amendments or something to get the soil where you want it would be easier at that scale.
Kid heaven.
At that kind of scale I would have thought the only reason to still be in pots would be to use a hydroponic set up. That would also solve your irrigation issue lol
Wow! You work really hard and it shows. Do you propagate to multiply your plants?
Have you found that planting in pots over planting in the ground gives you any advantages in terms of pest control?
A few questions –
What zone are you in?
What’s your water bill?
How much land do you use for that many bushes?
Small fortune is planters
