Local businesses prepare for start of 2025 Vermont Flower Show
ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. —
The Vermont Flower Show is back at the Champlain Valley Expo this weekend, and will run from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9.
The theme for this year’s event is “A Story of Gardening,” and takes visitors on a tour of gardens throughout history. The collection of displays showcases tulip fields, greenhouses, and even a working Dutch windmill.
Set up for this impressive event began on Tuesday, and brought together hundreds of volunteers from across the state to ensure the event runs smoothly.
“It is a well-oiled machine how everyone works together. They start planning a few months after it ends for the next one,” longtime volunteer and Full Circle Gardens owner Sarah Salatino explains.
The Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association (VNLA) and its partners have spent the last 18 months planning the biennial event, which last took place in 2023. There were over ten thousand flowers built into the showcase display — which is also the predicted number of attendees over the course of the weekend.
Gabe Bushey, President of the VNLA explains that the show forms a sense of collaboration amongst local farms and businesses. He said the expo provides an opportunity for professionals to come together to create a cohesive design throughout the showroom display to share with the community.
