I harvested my 4 chive plants this morning and wound up with 2 lbs 12 oz of chopped chives for the freezer. Took 17 years to get it all chopped. 🥱
(Yes, I did tare the scale when I put the empty bowl on it, then added the chives.)

I love fresh chives, what do you do with them after frozen?
You don’t use them throughout the season, maybe I’m doing this wrong
I can relate to this – I finally gave in and started dehydrating my four chive plants (after finely chopping). And while I was at it, I dehydrated sage, basil, lemon balm, thyme, oregano and anything else that struck my fancy.
This time of year I’m just exhausted. I’ve already put up 20 quarts of tomato sauce, 26 half pints of tomato jam, spicy peppers, and some other stuff.
Impressive chive hoard! These freeze unexpectedly well. Every winter I run out and I ask myself why I didn’t freeze more.
