    brown tendril, go for it

    especially if you’re not getting any more sun in the near future

  2. Only pick one and try it. Brown tendril is not always a tell tale sign it’s ready. The vines should squat below or close to the melons.

    I’ve heard the buttery yellow bottom is the best way to test for ripeness (after the tendril has dried up of course).
