Not bad; I think they’re fascinating albeit HUNGRY lol
We like to raise one or two into a moth once a year! My kids think they’re adorable and I love their velvety skin and how they click like tuff guyz. Also Find The Hornworm is a fun game we play in our garden lol
I’ve had devastating results from one too many at once while we were away on vacation, but between raising a couple and keeping an eye on the plants, their numbers can be managed 😊

They turn into sphinx moths, a lot of people like them. (It’s a tobacco hornworm, not a tomato hornworm that turns into a hawktail moth)

If you can give them a seperate part of the plant and continue feeding them, they make great pollinators.

OMG. The feel of all of those little legs on your hands is disgusting. Splat is where they go when I find them on my tomatoes.

They are adorable but they’ll decimate peppers, onions, tomatoes and idk what else. I had 4 of them eat my entire tomato plant.

Find a chicken and make it happy with that one. And then repeat as often as necessary.

I’ve only seen one or two of these a season where I am so I just let them do their thing. They haven’t destroyed anything of mine and I have plenty of backup plants and seeds. The only thing I really can’t stand are the mosquitoes lol.

Well you can find them cute and squishy if you want that’s up to you and if you want to feed them tomatoes and peppers that’s also up to you , they will take down plants in a few days so maybe plant more , I’m not trying to be a ass but that’s what they eat.

It just matters whether you want veggies or hornworms. You can’t have both.

They are SOOOO silky soft, and their hind legs are like little mitten-paddles! I always relocate them to my sacrificial tomato patch. It’s so lovely when the moths arrive — the kind of moth that will step right onto your finger 🙂 I realize I’m a bit weird, though.
