Join author and historian Darcy Maulsby of Lake City at the Woodward Public Library for “Iowa’s Amazing Garden Stories: How Iowa Gardeners Changed the Course of History,” a free free program set for Friday, Sept. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
Maulsby is a Master Gardener who tells many of these incredible stories in her best-selling books about Iowa history, including “A Culinary History of Iowa,” “Iowa Agriculture: A History of Farming, Family and Food,” “Madison County” and others .
The author will share a variety of famous and nearly forgotten stories, antique photos, vintage garden catalogs and more during this one-hour program that will inspire and entertain. She will also offer her list of top gardens to visit in Iowa for your next road trip.
Maulsby will also be selling copies of her other Iowa history books, including “The Lincoln Highway in Iowa;” “Calhoun County;” “Dallas County” and “Classic Restaurants of Des Moines.”
