So.. I've never seen fennel in my life, or a dill plant.

What is this?

That is Florence fennel, or bulbing fennel! It’s the kind of fennel grown for a large bulb at base, although you can eat the fronds too

Brush your hands through the fronds for a lovely licorice aroma. Dill has a scent of its own that isn’t at all like licorice.

It’s fennel. You can also rub the leaves to determine this by smell. Licorice=fennel. Pickles =dill

Fennel salad with salt, olive oil and lemon juice is one of my favorite foods ever
