After a strong start and soldiering through a few heat waves successfully, my potato vines collapsed in early July upon receiving 5" of rain in under 24 hours. They never popped back up and there have been numerous heavy rains and hot spells since then, so I've been weaving the foliage through various supports to keep it off the ground. To say the growth has been vigorous is an understatement – the bottom pic is a 5' x 5' square that consists of just (4) 50-quart grow bags, hiding underneath the vines.

Out of curiosity, I decided to empty a single bag today and I'm pretty pleased – the Upstate Abundance variety usually reaches golf-ball size and most are in that range, give or take. The remaining 3 bags will be need a little more time since the vines haven't fully died back. Not a bad harvest, considering the conditions. 😊
