Garden Catering is expanding its Connecticut footprint with new locations in Shelton and Darien.

The Shelton location will host a “friends and family day” Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer free samples of its chicken nuggets and 50% off all other menu items at 702 Bridgeport Ave. The soft opening of the Shelton location will be Nov. 24.

“Shelton has great community spirit, a growing economy and since we have locations nearby, we have existing brand awareness,” Tina Carpenteri, chief operating officer at Garden Catering, said in an email statement. “While Shelton has many wonderful restaurants, our hand-cut nuggets are unique to their dining scene, and we can’t wait to introduce them.”

Garden Catering also opened in the Heights Crossing development in Darien Nov. 17. That location will host a grand opening week from Dec. 1 to Dec. 6 that will feature “fan-favorite giveaways, special pricing and community give-backs,” according to a news release from Garden Catering.

The news release also mentioned that during the week guests can look forward to $3 breakfast sandwiches, free potato cones and milkshakes on select days and “Free T-shirt Day.” Guests can also enter to win free nuggets for a year.

A dollar from every special sold Dec. 2 will also support the Youth Community Fund of Darien.

“We’re excited to become part of daily life in Darien — the after-practice stop, the weekend go-to and a neighbor that supports local schools and nonprofits,” said Frank Carpenteri Jr., CEO of Garden Catering.

The two locations mark 10 now for the company in Connecticut, where it was founded in Old Greenwich in the late 1970s. Garden Catering also has locations in New York.
