I planted some elephant garlic last fall and let two of them flower out of curiosity. Any good uses for the flowers themselves? Everything I’ve seen online is about how to use the scapes, but I’m trying to see if I should cook with the flowers, baggie them and save them as seeds (if that’s a thing), or just toss them in the compost. Thanks!

  1. Elephant garlic is not a true garlic, it is a type of leek.  These scapes are long past when you would cook them either way.  Keep them somewhere dry and see if black seeds fall out.  If so, you can plant them next spring.  My elephant garlic flowers just dried down and most of them didnt have any seeds.
