West End Hall, the bar and beer garden at 2756 Broadway between 105th and 106th Streets, closed its doors and appears to have emptied out, according to photos sent in by tipsters. There was a sign on the door that said “Closed”.

The bar and beer garden was known for its long beer list, and for having one of the few large outdoor beer gardens in the neighborhood. Messages left for management have not been immediately returned. West End Hall opened in 2015. Thanks to Beth and Sandy for the tips.
Update: Reporter Alex Israel reminds us that new owners had said several months ago they would be taking over West End Hall but that they expected it to remain as a similar bar. It’s not clear if this is part of that transition.

Izakaya Ida at 141 West 72nd Street was closed by health inspectors on Feb. 28, and they posted a notice to the door saying they’re closed for “maintenance renovation” and will reopen next week. Restaurants closed because of health violations tend to reopen after follow-up inspections.
The list of violations is below:
Sanitary Violations
1) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
2) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
3) Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.
4) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained and/or not properly sealed, raised, spaced or movable to allow accessibility for cleaning on all sides, above and underneath the unit.
5) Proper sanitization not provided for utensil ware washing operation.
