LUBECK, W.Va. (WTAP) – Butcher Family Farm received an award of honor from the West Virginia Garden Club Monday afternoon.

According to Garden Club Assistant Treasurer Dina Braniff, the award recognizes outstanding efforts within the community through things like beautification, creating a friendly habitat for pollinators, and educational efforts.

The farm was nominated for the award by the Lubeck Acres Garden Club.

Members of that garden club joined members of the state garden club and employees of Butcher Family Farm for the award ceremony at the farm this afternoon.

Butcher Family Farm Manager Rob Butchers said receiving the award is an honor.

“We have been blessed with a very good, loyal customer base through the years,” Butcher said, “We’re a multi-generational operation. The ladies from the garden club have had many meetings here through the years. They’re very good customers and friends of the farm. And we were shocked to know that there’s even such an award that we’re receiving today.”

Butcher said he appreciated being nominated by the Lubeck Acres Garden Club.
