Think the tree is healthy enough now for backbudding. This will be my first reduction so kinda dont wanna mess up. Idea is to keep most parts that are somewhat horizontal. And if it backbuds heavily can always reduce further right?
The top cut is maybe a bit drastic and kills taper but i think the tree is to large is if I keep all the taper.

Have you tried wiring the vertical branches and making them more horizontal to see how you like it before making the big chops? That way you can make chops a bit further away from the trunk and keep more of the branches. They look nice.

Backbud placeoment is a gamble and rarely do they come at the cut site. I would cut longer, select shoots and refine the cut later.
Isn’t this a normal ficus b? Mine has very poor back budding success if all leaves are cut on a branch. Have you had success with this tree in the past?
I’d do kind of a medium hard cut not all the way down it’ll still prompt it to back bud well but will still have some foliage to feed it as it’s recovering. Then cut back harder later if you’d like.
