This happened to me one year when I planted my cucumbers too close to my zucchinis. I’m not positive that it was the cause but it only happened the year they were planted next to each other

Cut into doughnut shaped slices and served in a salad or with the topping of your choice in the hole, so to speak, could be a real showpiece.

As to why? Probably due to the hot weather and irregular watering, most of us have had strange shaped veg this year.

Personally I would cut this horizontally as a top and bottom bun, inside I would layer alfalfa sprouts and heirloom tomato slices.

*I am by far not a vegan nor vegetarian eater and this would still my dream sammich.
