My aunt sent me a photo of her beautiful landscaping (she lives in Texas), and I loved it so much I decided to carve it. I thought I’d share with the landscape aficionados. It’s the mix of textures that really does it for me: smooth and curvy crepe myrtle, jaunty mexican petunia, bright and low lantana, with a polite and orderly fence. Even the neighbor’s canopy with the fizziness of the sun. 🙂
Edit: someone asked what I meant by carving – it’s reduction linocut. You carve into a block, print a layer on several sheets of paper (I did an edition of 10), carve again, print next layer , repeat. This is a 7 layer reduction.
