Why does weeds have to be pretty though? 😢 I found a weed on the road that flowered and it was “giant iron weed.” I was so sad.

No, that is not ragweed. Standard ragweed (ambrosia artemisiifolia) has lacy leaves, and giant ragweed (ambrosia trifida) has 3-lobed leaves.

All the flowers in my yard are weeds, pretty or otherwise. Much to my neighbors’ delight! Just trying to identify them before they go to seed is all.

No. Rag weed has very different leaves to my knowledge. I believe that’s goldenrod. Native to (at least) the eastern US. State flower of Kentucky.

A weed is only a weed if you don’t want it growing in your garden. Anything can be called a weed!
Many beautiful wildflowers are considered weeds by some.
“Weeds” often have great health benefits and used for healing before pharmaceuticals took over.
