I just did a very aggressive trunk chop on my willow leaf ficus and got a lot of back budding? should I pick a couple of the best positioned buds and remove the rest now or give them all a bit more time to grow before making decisions?

I would select and remove the buds which i definitly dont need. But if im in doubt with a bud, i would let it grow and decide later. But you have such a lot that you can remove some without Problems. I do the same with my pomegranate and japanese elms after they back bud strong in times of removing the whole foilage.
