The Mille Lacs Health System Auxiliary has donated $1,500 to Mille Lacs Health System in support of the Healing Garden. Patt Gustafson, President of the Auxiliary, presented the check in July 2026 to Annette Hoheisel, Director of Facilities Management, and Andy Knutson, CEO of Mille Lacs Health System.
Funds were raised during the Auxiliary’s Summer Plant and Bake Sale. The Healing Garden, located in the courtyard near the Senior Care Unit and Cura Long Term Care, features beautiful flowers, walking paths, memorial bricks, and benches. Designed as a peaceful outdoor retreat, the garden provides a welcoming place for patients, residents, visitors, employees, and families to relax, reflect, and enjoy nature.
The garden is currently undergoing a complete renovation, and many of the perennials were carefully dug up by Auxiliary volunteers and sold during the plant sale to help support the project.
“We are grateful for the continued support of the Mille Lacs Health System Auxiliary,” said Annette Hoheisel. “These funds will help maintain and enhance the Healing Garden so it remains a beautiful, welcoming space for everyone who visits, works, or receives care at Mille Lacs Health System.”
