Ive never built one of these before but some friends did and I thought they looked cool,
Contains: appalacian prickly pear, Heather, kalenchoe, moss, sedum, that asparagus fern stuff, aloe Vera, sempeveroum, another sempeverium style thing with an orange flower I forgot the name of.
Drainage layer: gravel
Bioactives: homemade compost with heaps of woodlouse and friends

the woodlouse wont survive in this very long
you need a thick layer or generous pile of leaf litter which is their primary food source
and depending on what species you put in there likely isnt enough humidity
