I live in Sri Lanka. This happened in the house I live in which belongs to my cousin (he lives abroad). This ant hill appeared out of nowhere in the walkway when we were away for the weekend. It seems like they are still digging it. What should I do to remove it safely. I don't want to harm the ants. But if my father sees this, he will absolutely demolish it.

The ants need to be harmed. Or they will come right back.
But if you knock it down, none of the ants are likely to die. They’ll just dig their way back out
My dad would wash them away.. they’d go to the neighbors house 😂 take a water hose, a pack of cigarettes, and an undeserved sense of entitlement and get your butt out there and smile and wave!

Borax & sugar combined in water to make a slurry – the sugar causes them to consume it, they share it through the best & they die. Just cover the slurry with a heavy pot so no other animal Ect eats the slurry.

I usually just leave them. My yard goes through a cycle of lots of ants. Lots of spiders. No ants. No spiders. Repeat.
Suggest you walk around it.

The best way to get them to move the entire nest is to make that spot really bad for them to be in. You could also try piling some dirt nearby and making a trail to that with sugar. You could also put mirrors around the area, making it too hot and bright, they’d get annoyed and leave. That might take a while…
I enjoy stomping these things and ruining their hill that they worked so hard on. But then I thought about it and I was wondering if they actually enjoy their hills getting blown apart because it gives them something to do. I usually see them pop up all over the place after a lot of heavy rain. I assume the water seeping in to the ground forces them to come up especially when the ground is easier to dig in after it’s been saturated.
Anyway, no mercy for fire ants. They’re invasive and destructive. They push out the nice ants and they don’t belong here. I use orthene. It kills the mound pretty quick. I really don’t care about being nice or environmentally friendly about it. My wife is gets bitten (sting technically) and blows up like a balloon for days. My kids get massive welts on them if they get stung. These things are pieces of shit and they die. Th
