Was out watering today and noticed this top half broken off its base. It’s about 20” and has zero areoles….. wwyd?
Edit to add my thoughts:
a. Pot it….. but will it root? It definitely won’t pup right?
b. 🫖 never done it but feel the cacti gods are giving a sign.
c. Sell/trade
d. Boof it…… joke…… perhaps

I would ship it to me

Go ahead and root it. At the very least, that will keep it alive and healthy.
These forms have been known to sprout pups spontaneously—an areole isn’t always necessary.
Is this TBM-a or ?
D is the only correct answer
Could possibly make several grafts with it? Then it’d pup like crazy but of course the final decision is up too you
If you feel generous and so include, I’ll trade you this (I’ll cover shipping), for you to choose six newbies to get a yearling from my last grow (they cover shipping, lower 48).
Multiply the love of the plant?
PP tech will get you pups.

Sometime it be do dat. I’ve cut other plants at the curve and have rooted them separately with outstanding results. But never a spineless TBM. I’d say grab a stake and some twine then root the entirety of that baldness.

Pot it!!!
It will definitely root but I’ve only read it may pup. I’m still waiting on mine close to a year now. Recently been doing pptek every time I water it so hopefully it helps.
It can still pup from the apical meristem
I did a tip graft and planted a few mid cuts with the hope of developing strong basal pups like the tbmb without areolas did.
