Hey! Can anyone identify if this is Horse chestnut or Hickory? Location: Western North Carolina. Horse chestnut is invasive and i plan to remove it if it is. Apologies the slope is very dense with leaves and greens. Thanks!

Certainly a Hickory (Carya sp.) but I don’t know the exact species.

Def hickory of some sort. Horsechestnut has leaflets that attach all at one place, like your fingers attach to your palm.

Horse chestnut and native buckeye species (genus Aesculus) have palmate leaves, meaning the leaflets all radiate out from a central point.
